KPS provides HIV Awareness to young people with outside speakers going into schools and colleges in Cornwall giving an hour-long session on HIV. The sessions are suitable for Years 9, 10 and 11. From September we will be able to offer these by Zoom, or with COVID-19 safety precautions in place.

We provide HIV Awareness to medical professionals, frontline professionals and to the public, tailoring our sessions to your organisation’s needs.

If you are interested in HIV awareness for your school, college, surgery, practice, business, club or society, please email us or call our office on 01872 258453 (Mon – Fri – 8.30am – 5pm).

Feedback from teachers:

‘The session was excellent: hugely beneficial and valuable for our young people and for our curriculum delivery. We really appreciate the work that the charity does and will book you in for the next academic year.’ School

‘One of your speakers gave a brilliant talk on Friday. It was so good that a member of the team asked the speaker to come back and speak to my students.’ Cornwall College

‘We really valued the HIV sessions earlier in the year. Could we please organise this again for next academic year?’ St Joseph’s, Launceston.

‘I thought that it was really useful for the students to have a different angle on the theory and was wondering if you would be available again.’  Launceston College

‘Your talks have been a valuable addition to our PSHE programme.’ Penair School, Truro

From students:

‘Mind blowing!’

‘The most informative session.’

‘Interesting and educational. Real life experience was useful.’

‘Taught me information that I was unaware of, like that you cannot contract HIV by hugging or kissing. I learnt a lot.’

And from professionals:

‘I’d like to say how much we all enjoyed Max’s talk this morning, the time flew by and he was so knowledgeable, fun and approachable. And to top it all off, when a member of our team with a hearing impairment asked a question, Max asked him if he signed and they were able to converse in BSL!’ Disability Cornwall
